Competencies

In order to be successful for this role, the candidate must possess the following competencies and experience:

  • At least a Bachelor's degree, preferably in Math, Physics, Engineering or any related field.
  • Experience in teaching Mathematics, preferably in O and A level Math.
  • Familiar with learner-centered pedagogy, ability to develop instructionally sound materials for online learning.
  • Passion for advancing the University's commitment to excellence in learning and teaching.
  • Ability to embrace new teaching pedagogies and willingness to develop new methodologies to enhance students’ learning.
  • Experienced with instructional design techniques and methodologies, online course development and delivery will be an added advantage.
  • This position requires a high level of design and technical creativity, initiative, active listening, excellent interpersonal communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure.

The roles and responsibilities of this role include:

  • The Mathematics Course Developer will report to the Director for Centre for Learning Environment and Assessment Development (CoLEAD).
  • Partner with academic staff in the process of developing learning activities and content, in the area of Pre-University and University Mathematics.
  • Assists academic staff in applying sound pedagogy and innovative teaching and learning methods as well as in curriculum alignment and assessment, including embedding of assurance of learning processes across degree programs.
  • Collaborates with staff including video producers/editors, educational technologists, and teaching and learning experts to develop creative and interactive learning content.
