Competencies

In order to be successful for this role, the candidate must possess the following competencies and experience:

  • The candidate needs to be poised, professional, confident and multicultural in outlook. The minimum requirements are an undergraduate degree and 8-10 years working experience (with at least 3 – 5 years’ experience managing staff). Candidates with a Master’s Degree in Public Policy will have an added advantage.
  • The ideal candidate must be able to thrive in a fast paced and dynamic environment. One who has a strong interest in international affairs and has experience in government service or a global institution will be well-suited for the position. He/she may be required to travel overseas for conferences or events (10-20% of the time).

Our client, a higher education institution, is looking for an Associate Director, Global Partnerships to join their esteemed organization.

The roles and responsibilities of this role include:

  • The Associate Director, Global Partnerships, will work closely with and support the Dean to strategically expand and maintain the global partnerships of the School, the Dean and his office.
  • As the most senior administrator in the Dean’s office, the Associate Director of Global Partnerships must develop on an on-going basis, cooperative and strategic relationships with business contacts, journalists, government officials, and investors to maintain and enhance the School’s and Dean’s international presence, reach and influence.

The key duties and responsibilities includes but not limited to the following:

(a) Global Partnerships & Corporate Communications

  • Cultivate new and maintain existing partnerships between the Dean’s office and local and foreign governments as well as regional and international organisations;
  • Plan, propose, coordinate and liaise with external parties for the Dean’s local and overseas engagements, including speaking engagements and attendance at international forums, meetings and conferences;
  • Plan and manage the Dean’s media appearances and interviews, together with the External Affairs Department at the School;\Plan, as well as liaise and coordinate, with local and international publishers and editors for the schedules and work plans to publish the Dean’s books and writings.

(b) School Development

  • Work closely with the School’s senior management team to support and advice the Dean on critical decision-making and strategic planning in the School;
  • Support, as well as provide advice and information to, the Dean for critical decision-making and strategic planning;
  • Work closely and coordinate with faculty members and staff on select special projects to enhance the School’s systems, work flow and organisational health.

(c) Management of the Dean’s Office

  • Lead, supervise and guide the staff at the Dean’s office and ensure the smooth day-to-day operations in the Dean’s office.
  • Responsible for the work and special projects in the Dean’s office.
