• Bachelor's degree computer science or a related field, or significant equivalent experience.
• Works well under pressure, team player, tolerates ambiguity, with excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Possess minimum 2 years of advance experience managing multiple UNIX based servers especially in RedHat platform
• Possess minimum 2 years of advance experience managing multiple UNIX based servers especially in RedHat platform
• Experience in managing Web and Database server, especially Apache and MySQL
• Possess an extensive knowledge and strong expertise in web programming technologies such as PHP, Phyton, MySQL, Apache, HTML, CSS & Javascript and relational database systems such as MySQL and MSSQL.
• Experience in creating an API and Single Sign on application required for system integrations.
• Experience with Moodle, Kaltura, Mahara, LAMS, WordPress and other open source system is a plus.
• Expertise in full project development life cycles (implementation, integration and testing) of customized systems and web-based systems.
• Works well under pressure, team player, tolerates ambiguity, with excellent organisational and communication skills.

 

The overall responsibilities of this role include:

• Install new / rebuild existing application in accordance with standards and requirement of the Learning Management Systems, Student Response Systems, Learning Analytics and other web applications.
• Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure / add new services as necessary.
• Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media.
• Develop, test, implement and maintain the Learning Management System (LMS), and other web applications to provide the Faculty, staff and students with easy access   to course materials, online learning activities, students’ progress and other e-learning tools.
• Customize the LMS to integrate with other relevant external systems, such as the student administration system, HR system, Student Response System, and Learning Analytics to facilitate synchronization and exchanges of Faculty and students’ data.
• Troubleshoot technical issues related to the LMS and other learning platform and develop functional solutions to improve learning processes using the system.
• Develop tools and batch application which will help to automate the system administration and report generations for teaching and learning purpose.
• Develop and build new web and mobile application for teaching and learning experience.
• Manage and administer office of Education Department website and other web portal which belong to office of education department.
• Work closely with the Faculty and administrators to develop specifications and make recommendation on the use of new and emerging technologies.
