ResponsibiliTies

The overall responsibilities of this role include:

 

1.  Admissions & Financial Aid

  • Develop, manage and organize a professional and efficient operational plan for admissions assessment and selection. This includes streamlining the selection matrix and training faculty on the interview process
  • Strategise, lead and execute a professional and effective yield campaign to convert offers to acceptances and enrolment
  • Strengthen collaboration with the External Affairs Department to ensure that the marketing and branding programmes remain attractive and relevant in the recruitment and admissions of high calibre graduate students
  • Oversee, organize and manage the work of the Admissions Committee to ensure efficient decision-making according to the timeline for admissions and enrolment
  • Leverage on the new Customer Relations Management (CRM) system to organize and manage critical admissions information and guide the team in harnessing the system for continued success
  • Represent AA at Admissions Committee and Management Committee meetings
  • Be the Lead secretariat in providing key support to the Admissions committee
  • Responsible for providing regular and systematic analysis of admissions data and presentation of yearly reports to the Management Committee (MC), together with the Associate Dean
  • Determine financial aid and scholarships allocations per academic year in collaboration with Finance, and EA-Donor Relations

 

2.  Programme Management (New Programs)

Oversee and management the administration of new English-language programmes which include:

  • Programme Operation:
    • Administrative oversight of new English-language graduate programme
    • Oversee logistical and operational management related to scheduling, course delivery, study visits and practical components of the programme curriculum in collaboration with Student & Career Services, Exam and Scheduling Unit
    • Management of programme enquiries and specific requirements for existing and prospective students
    • Ensuring positive student experience (academic) by tracking and analyzing student feedback and performance through formal and informal channels
    • Prepare reports on programme/students for management committee
  • Curriculum and Faculty:
    • Coordination and liaison with faculty and academic partners regarding programme/student matters
    • Curriculum coordination and development support for new programmes
    • Assisting Vice Dean and Associate Dean on all matters related to New Programmes

 

3.  Academic Partnerships

  • Responsible for the development and review of the partnership strategy and ensure its alignment to the School’s mission and vision
  • Perform a key role in the School's internationalization strategy by advancing Academic Affairs (AA)’s academic partnerships outreach
  • Lead, oversee, organize and manage the academic partnerships database to ensure that current key agreements are maintained and that new agreements are endorsed and properly recorded
  • Lead and coordinate with Programmes Unit on review of partnerships requests, analyze and make recommendations for AA on whether to proceed with the partnership
  • Serve as the primary liaison officer/contact point for AA/School to the International Relations Office (IRO), Vice-President's Office of Global Affairs and the Legal Office
  • Regular and systematic analysis/reporting to AA deanery and MC

4.  Budget and Finance Oversight for Admissions, Partnerships and New Programmes

  • Responsible for the overall Admissions, Academic Partnerships and New Programmes budget
  • Responsible for budget utilization for Unit

5.  Human Resource/Capacity Development for AA

  • Develop and manage work plan for all staff in Admissions and Academic Partnerships Unit
  • Manage performance appraisal for all staff in unit
  • Strengthen AA backend systems, including information systems to ensure integrity of data capture, ease of retrieval and corporate knowledge retention

6.  Other Duties as assigned by Vice-Dean and Associate Dean (Academic Affairs)
