ResponsibiliTies |
Under the Office of Research and Industry Collaborations, the Manager/ Senior Manager is expected to perform the following tasks associated with the Research activity management of the university :
- Establish internal policies and processes governing research activities within the university
- Identify best practices and benchmarks associated with other research institutions and institutions of higher learning, both locally and overseas and incorporate some of these best practices into the university’s existing framework and processes
- Manage the research activities within the university, including research grant applications, awarded research grants, research reporting to relevant funding agencies and the research management system in the university
- Provide relevant support to the faculty in their applications to external grant calls and other post-award research related queries
- Develop close rapport with the funding agencies locally and internationally, so as to ensure that the university is able to respond appropriately to funding agencies’ requests and requirements
- Operationalize and implement the university’s research strategy and plans, working closely with the management and faculty to achieve this
- Identify and manage research benchmarks, research indicators and supporting research databases within the university including publications, databases for journals and conferences
- Drive the development of the Research Management System in the university, working closely with the relevant stakeholders and the external vendor
- Oversee the research processes and ensure that they are in compliance with the university’s overall goals and policies as well as funding agencies’ research guidelines and policies
- Drive the planning and management of research facilities as well as research assets for the university.
